MinorLeagueSplits.com Sponsorships

It is now possible to promote your website or business, cheer on your favorite Minor League player or team, and support Minor League Splits at the same time! You may now sponsor any and all player pages on this site. Page sponsorships allow you to place a link and a personalized message just above a player's or team's stat table. Here's an example of what the sponsorship will look like:

Brew Crew Ball sponsors this page. (about)
The Brewers totally should've traded for this guy!

Sponsoring a player or team is simple. First, find the page of the player or team you are interested in (use the search box at the top of this page or click here). Then, if it isn't already sponsored by someone else, click on the link in the yellow box and follow instructions from there.

One major difference between this sponsorship program and the other ones you may be familiar with is this: because many players and teams have multiple pages (for instance, Scott Elbert's main page, Jacksonville pitching splits, and cumulative splits, among several others), your sponsorship buys you placement on all of your player's or team's pages. I'll turn to a Q&A format for the rest:

How much does it cost? About 97% of player sponsorships cost $5. The remaining 200 or so players--all of whom are notable prospects--are $15 each. Those players are rotated on and off the front page daily, so not only are those more desirable pages, they tend to get a little bit more "impulse" traffic than other pages on the site. Teams cost $10.

How long does it last? Your sponsorship is good for one year from the date of purchase. You'll have first crack at renewing the sponsorship for the following year, as well. I don't guarantee, however, that prices will stay the same.

What can I say in my message? Anything you want, as long as it's not offensive or negative. You may advertise your business, express your support for the player or team, or dedicate the page to a friend or loved one. If you can say it in 255 characters or less and it doesn't bother me, go for it.

Who decides what's offensive or negative? I do. I'm not interested in hosting Yankees/Red Sox flame wars or anything derogatory about a specific player. There are hundreds of forums on the web for stuff like that.

How do I pay? PayPal works best; after filling in your sponsorship details, a link to PayPal will be provided. If you don't already have a PayPal account, it's easy and secure: you can pay from any major credit card or bank account. If you'd prefer not to pay online, you may send a check. However, I won't approve your sponsorship until I receive payment: if you send a check, you run the risk of having someone beat you to your player of choice while payment is in the mail. (If that happens, I'll refund your money, or allow you to apply the funds to another sponsorship.)

How long does it take for my sponsorship to appear on the site? No more than 48 hours. Probably considerably less.

Does my sponsorship appear on all of the player's or team's pages? Yes. Any player who has both batted and pitched, or has played for multiple Minor League teams, will have more than one page. One price ($5 or $15) will place your message on each one of those pages. (Note: Player game log pages run from a different script, so at least for the time being, sponsorships will not appear on those pages. If and when I add sponsorships to those pages, the same policy will apply: sponsor a player and you'll appear on all of that player's pages.) There are several pages for each team (roster pages, batting and pitching splits, games played by position, and perhaps more to come), and your $10 sponsorship places your message on all of those pages.

Can the link be to my e-mail address instead of a website? Yes. However, be aware that bad people write programs that harvest e-mail addresses from websites in order to send spam.
